Terms of Use

These terms explain the rules for using Sumzo. We have tried to keep them short and in plain language — please read them, and ask us if anything is unclear.

Last updated: 29 October 2026

1. About these terms

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Sumzo (“Sumzo”, “we”, “us”) about your use of the Sumzo website and the Sumzo apps for iPhone and Android, including the AI Solver, calculators, Practice and the Learning Center (together, the “Service”).

By using the Service or creating an account, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Sumzo.

2. Who can use Sumzo

You may use Sumzo if you are 13 or older.

Children under 13 may use Sumzo only with the permission and supervision of a parent, guardian or teacher, who agrees to these Terms on their behalf and is responsible for their use of the Service.

If you are under the age at which you can enter a contract where you live, please read these Terms with a parent or guardian, who must agree to them for you.

3. Your account

  • Give accurate information when you create an account, and keep your email address up to date.
  • Keep your password and sign-in codes secret. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
  • An account is for one person. Do not share it or use someone else’s.
  • If you think someone else has got into your account, change your password and contact us.
  • You can delete your account at any time from your account settings, or from Account in the app.

4. Learning honestly

Sumzo is a tool for learning. Do not use it where your school, teacher, university or exam rules do not allow it — for example during a test, or for work that has to be your own. You are responsible for following those rules.

5. Answers and accuracy

We work hard to make Sumzo’s answers correct. Answers solved or checked by Sumzo’s maths engine are marked Verified; answers produced by Sumzo AI alone are marked Unverified.

Even so, any answer can be wrong — AI in particular can make mistakes while sounding confident. Check answers that matter, and use your own judgement.

Sumzo is an educational tool. It does not give professional advice (for example financial, engineering, medical or legal advice), and you should not rely on it for decisions where a mistake could cause harm.

6. What you send us

Your content means the problems, text, photos, PDFs and other material you submit. You keep ownership of your content.

You give Sumzo permission to use your content only to run the Service — to answer your questions, show your practice history, and keep the Service working and safe.

Photos and PDFs you attach are sent to our AI provider to produce an answer. If you are signed in with history saving on, they are kept with that saved solution until you delete it or your account; otherwise Sumzo does not store them.

If you create a share link, anyone with the link can view that fixed copy of the solution until the link expires or you revoke it. Only share solutions you are happy for others to see.

Messages you send through Contact us, and answers you report as wrong, are kept so we can help you and improve Sumzo. They are deleted 12 months after the last activity, or sooner if you delete your account.

Only submit content you have the right to share, and do not include other people’s personal information.

7. Acceptable use

When using Sumzo, do not:

  • break the law, or help anyone else to;
  • upload anything harmful, offensive, or that harasses or threatens others;
  • upload viruses or other harmful files, or try to get into accounts or systems that are not yours;
  • disrupt or overload the Service, or try to get around its security or usage limits;
  • copy, scrape or download the Service or its content in bulk, or use automated tools to access it, except where we allow it;
  • resell, rent or offer the Service as your own, or use it to build a competing product;
  • present an Unverified answer as if Sumzo had checked it.

8. Sumzo’s content

The Service — including its design, logo, calculators, lessons, practice questions and software — belongs to Sumzo or the people we license it from.

You may use it for your own learning and teaching. Teachers are welcome to use Sumzo with their classes, for example by sharing links or showing it in lessons. Do not copy, republish or sell its content without our written permission.

9. A free service that changes over time

Sumzo is currently free. We are always improving it, so features may be added, changed or removed.

In the future we may introduce paid plans or limits on how much some features can be used. We will tell you before anything you use starts to cost money.

10. Other services

Sumzo relies on other companies to run some features — for example an AI provider for Sumzo AI and an email provider for sign-in codes. Links to other websites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content.

11. No guarantees

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will always be available, error-free, or that its answers will be correct or suitable for your purpose.

12. Limits on our responsibility

To the fullest extent the law allows, Sumzo is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, for lost data, or for marks, grades or exam results that depend on how you used the Service.

Where we are responsible, our total responsibility is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim. While Sumzo is free, that amount is zero.

Nothing in these Terms limits any responsibility that cannot be limited by law.

13. Suspending or ending use

You can stop using Sumzo at any time. If you delete your account, you have 7 days to change your mind by logging in; after that, your account and its data are permanently deleted.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms or puts other people or the Service at risk. Where it is reasonable, we will tell you why.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above, and for important changes we will let you know — for example on the site or by email — before they take effect. If you keep using Sumzo after that, you accept the updated Terms.

15. Questions

If you have any questions about these Terms, please contact us.
